About the Sweden Town Park
The Sweden Town Park, 4745 Redman Road, is open from dawn to dusk year-round. There is so much to do at the park for every member of the family! There are: six multipurpose soccer/lacrosse/football fields (one lighted for night games), seven youth baseball fields, Nietopski Field (a regulation-sized baseball field), a concession stand, the Town Lodge, restrooms, a skate park, an 18-hole disc golf course, hiking trails, a dog park, three playgrounds, three picnic pavilions, a pond for fishing and a Splash Pad!
The Splash Pad is open from 10 am to 7 pm every day of the week from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Please read the rules found on this site regarding groups.
The Sweden Town Park is a popular spot for geocaching and in the winter, you will find cross-country skiers and snow shoers. Most of the park facilities are free and open for use whenever the park is open. However, some facilities require a reservation and a fee; others are open for use when not reserved for leagues. To find out the availability of a park facility, call the Community Center at 431-0090. Here is a general guideline:

You never need a reservation or fee to:
- Play on the playgrounds or Splash Pad
- Walk the trails
- Play disc golf
- Use the skate park
- Fish in the pond
Play unorganized catch or batting practice on baseball fields (excluding Nietopski) when not used by leagues or closed for maintenance.
Kick balls, play around in an unorganized manner on the multipurpose fields when not used by leagues or closed for maintenance.

The annual fee for access to all Monroe County Dog Parks is $24 per dog ($25 if paying by credit/debit card).Where/when can I register my dog?
There are many options. The Monroe County Parks Department registers dogs at the Sweden/Clarkson Community Center one Wednesday evening per month.In the summer months, registration is available one Wednesday evening per month at the Sweden Town Park. Registration is also taken Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm at the Monroe County Parks Office, 171 Reservoir Avenue, Rochester. A current copy of your dog license with your current address and a copy of current rabies certificate (documentation, not tags). Please do not bring your dog with you when registering at the Sweden/Clarkson Community Center.How long does registration take?
Only 5-10 minutes.How long is the registration valid?
The permit is annual. Any registration processed after October 1 is valid through the following year. Any registration before October 1 is valid only until the end of the current year. Monroe County will mail renewal packets to currently registered dog park members annually in late November.How is the dog park fee used?
Half the fees collected from dogs that live in the Town of Sweden go to the Monroe County Dog Park Trust Fund. The other half is returned to the Town of Sweden for upkeep of the Sweden Dog Park.What are the benefits of dog parks?
Providing a legal recreational outlet for dog owners who want to exercise and socialize their dogs in a safe, leash-free environment; preventing unwanted encounters between unleashed dogs and other park users; providing people with limited mobility the opportunity to exercise their dogs in a safe, accessible place; and bringing people together to promote a greater sense of community.
