I will receive all such taxes beginning September 1, 2020 through October 31, 2020. NO INTEREST THROUGH AND INCLUDING OCTOBER 1, 2020. PLEASE NOTE: Beginning October 2, 2020, 3% interest will be added to the bill. After this time all bills are paid to the Monroe County Treasury. Contact the Monroe County Treasury for an accurate amount with interest and fees by calling 753-1200. Payments will NOT be accepted by the Monroe County Treasurer after November 18; any unpaid amount will be applied to the following Town and County bill as a relevy.
Installment payments are also an option at the following schedule:
The first installment payment is payable to Kathleen Bahr-Seever. The 2nd and 3rd installments must be made out to Monroe County Treasury. (See schedule below)
1st installment– due by September 15th (payable to Kathleen Bahr-Seever, Tax Receiver 18 State St. Brockport, NY 14420)
2nd installment– due by October 15th (MUST BE MADE PAYABLE to Monroe County Treasury P.O. Box 14420 Rochester, NY 14614)
3rd installment– due by November 15th (MUST BE MADE PAYABLE to Monroe County Treasury P.O. Box 14420 Rochester, NY 14614)
TOWN AND COUNTY TAX COLLECTION
The collection period for the Town and County taxes begins on January 1st each year and runs until February 10th for full payment with no interest. Late payments including interest are accepted through May 31st. After this time, all bills are paid to the Monroe County Treasurer. Contact the Monroe County Treasury for an accurate amount with interest and fees by calling 753-1200, by mail at P.O. Box 14420, Rochester, NY 14614, or in person at 39 W. Main St., B-2, Rochester, NY 14614.
Interest Schedule:
January 1 – February 10 No interest due
February 11 – February 28 1 ½% interest
March 1 – March 31 3% interest
April 1 – April 30 4 ½% interest
May 1 – May 10 6% interest
May 11 – May 31 6% interest plus $1.00 County Fee
June 1 – Aug 20 Contact Monroe County Treasury
Installment payments are an option at the following schedule:
1st installment– due by February 10th with no interest
2nd installment– due by February 28th with 1.5% interest
3rd installment– due by March 31st with 3% interest
4th installment– due by April 30th with 4.5% interest
Taxpayers also have a third option to satisfy their property tax obligations. Partial Payments can be made by making the initial payment of at least 25% of the taxes due plus any accrued interest (see schedule above) which can be paid anytime before August 20th. Any subsequent payments of at least $100 can be made anytime between the initial payment and August 20th.
Please make checks payable to Kathleen Bahr-Seever, Receiver of Taxes (until May 31st) or Monroe County Treasury (June 1st – August 20th).
Acceptable forms of payment are cash, money order, and personal or bank check There is a $20.00 charge for all returned checks. We do not accept credit or debit cards.
Tax payments may be paid in person at the Sweden Town Hall, 18 State Street, Brockport, NY 14420 during tax collection hours specified above. For your convenience, a drop box is available in the front of the building. You may also mail your payment to Kathleen Bahr-Seever, Receiver of Taxes, 18 State Street, Brockport, NY 14420. The date of the postmark becomes the date payment is received. Stamps purchased at a kiosk will not have a postmark therefore they will be accepted as the date I actually receive them.
